Patrick’s Day Parade

This was a first for a home-made wind turbine as far as we are aware – the first self-built wind turbine in a St. Patrick’s Day Parade. ┬áThe 3.1m dia turbine was made in Ballinamore at a workshop with mostly local people so it seemed fitting to enter it into the local parade.

 

We were in good company here with a few beautiful old Porsche tractors. As you can see that is us in the background – the green truck – thanks Muiris for being involved with your tipper truck ­čÖé

Ballinamore Day 5

Well almost the last day we are going back on Monday to finish ( all the parisapents bar one are living locally )
All that is left to do is put on the blades and balance them then we are going to keep our eye on the forecast for some wind and put it up for testing. It’s been very calm here this week and It’s always nice to see a wind turbine you just made up and making some power. So more of the story on Monday.

We got the casing done and the frame and blades are almost finished more tomorrow……

Busy day today not much time for taking photos but we have two.

We got the coils wound and soldered and the magnets on the disks and frame almost finished.
